Career & Advising Information

MS&E students are served by a full-time dedicated career placement officer housed in the IEOR Department. This officer develops and maintains relationships with employers in the Management Science & Engineering industries; providing individual counseling and advisement to students on career options and preparations. Students leave the program with skills in resume and cover letter writing, interviewing competencies, job search strategies and networking techniques.

Senior staff from the Business School's Career Management Center serve as consultants and advisors to this officer, sharing best practices, assisting in recommending candidates for that position and providing newly hired officers with training within the Business School's Career Management Center. The MS&E Career Placement Officer also works with the University's Center for Career Education to coordinate access to interviews for positions appropriate to students in the MS&E program. Interviews and corporate presentations are conducted in the IEOR department. MS&E students do not have access to job listings or direct staff contact from the Business School's Career Management Center.

Student Affairs staff and faculty at the IEOR department provide academic advising and registration support to the MS&E students. The student affairs office at the Business School does not have individual student level contact, but works with staff at IEOR.
